We were His Friend before the beginning of time. And it remains latent, dormant, this imprint within the heart, until we come to the path. And then a certain light is reflected into this imprint that awakens it. And then His light turns our imprint, the imprint within our heart into this lamp that guides us on the path. And for each of us this lamp is different, has a different quality. We each see the path differently. One of the dangers of ever talking about this path. For each of us it is different. It is never exclusive. There are as many ways to God as there are human beings, as many as the breaths of the children of men.
